Reference: Active Server Pages (ASP)

What Is It?
Active Server Pages (ASP) refers to a server technology that can build dynamic web pages and interact with numerous objects within a given environment. Below is a diagram with some examples of objects that might be used in a hosting environment that uses Active Server Pages.

How Does It Work?
1) Your browser requests a web page containing ASP from the Web Server.
2) The Web Server sends any ASP requests to the ASP Server.
3) The ASP Server returns the processed request as HTML Code to the Web Server.
4) The Web Server sends final HTML code to your web browser.
